Tahir was an absolutely magnificent host. The hotel is clean, modern by normal standards but for an accommodation in the mountains of the North of Pakistan, it exceeded in its modernity. I literally have not even a single bit of constructive criticism, the stay was great. A few power cuts here and there, but that is no fault of the premises. For a small and humble hotel, the food was also some of the nicest I had during my entire trip to Pakistan. Would highly recommend and I'll be back for sure.

Perfect place to stay in winters for its warmth and coziness. The rooms were nicely heated and bathrooms had warm water. The bed was very comfortable to sleep in. The staff speak English and was very polite, attentive and helpful making you feel at home. And the breakfast was perfect 🙂 From now on one of my most favorite places to stay every time I am in Pakistan/Gilgit 🙂 Definitely of the same European standard we are used to. Amazing!! We had a fantastic stay at Oak Residency. The host Tahir is amazing and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was great. We visited during winter and there was hot water and heating. Tahir was also very helpful in organizing our trips to other parts of Northern Pakistan and is very knowledgeable in what to see and do in the area. He also joined us on a couple of our trips which we enjoyed as much as him! The chef Bakar also cooks great evening meals if you wish to eat in the hotel dining area.

Second stay in this excellent hotel and we can confirm the previous review. Room clean and comfortable. Very quiet, not close to the center but there are taxis not far. Lunch and dinner available upon request, and you can have them in a nice terrace with a beautiful view on the mountains. Most of all, the kind assistance of the owner in any situation. For example, he has provided personally the transport from/to the airport and help for changing money. We could also leave here a bag with some extra stuff while we were hiking on the mountains.

I used it when I went back to Islamabad. I thought the weather was bad and the flight would be cancelled, so I asked for a shared taxi and they kindly arranged it for me. The room was spacious and clean, and even though I was the only one staying there at the time, they made breakfast to order. It's on a hill, so if you have heavy luggage, it might be a bit tiring to walk.

Oak Residency is a little gem in Gilgit. After a few basic nights, we were really longing some comfort and that is exactly what we found here. The staff is super friendly and Tahir, the owner, speaks very good English. He can help you with your Pakistan itinerary and give you some good recommendations. Rooms are spacious, clean and they have hot showers. The breakfast was good and we had dinner there as well (~€3 pp). We stayed there twice and they dropped us at the bus station both times. There is air conditioning, you can open the windows if you want. On the second floor there is a terrace for breakfast with a beautiful view of the mountains. Breakfast can be agreed upon in time, the guys cook an omelet, flatbreads, decent coffee (not instant). The manager - Mushahid is very hospitable and attentive. He helped me a lot during my stay and my trip to Baltistan. You can order food at the hotel, also within 15 minutes’ walk there are many small restaurants on the main street. Definitely recommended.

Instantly, I felt a very friendly and genuine place with great decor, local touches and high-end finishes. Great balcony with a View for breakfast/coffee.
